Your advisor in college has a catalog of which specific classes you will need once you get into college.

I have an MA in counseling and have worked in higher education for almost 30 years. I suggest talking with your high school counselor about what your state requires. Generally, you must have a bachelors degree in an area of teacher education, some teaching experience and a masters in counseling. This varies by state. As a high school student, I would suggest taking courses in psychology and volunteering for tutoring programs or mentoring programs, if they are available. Working as a volunteer coach will make you more attractive to undergraduate and graduate programs.
