College problem. don’t know what to do.?
my story im in summer vacation . im going to be a senior in the fall. All throughout my freshman sophmore and my 1st semester of high school i was clueless as to me actually going to college. I Realized a couple months ago. can you believe that??? . that i could actually make it and go to college. But heres the problem. My dream goal. is to go to a a cal state school. Fullerton b/c they have a great business deparment. Well my grades for freshman were not great .they were bad. sophmore were not great but not bad.only 1 d. junior .1 f. and freshman 1 f..so to get in i have to make all of those up. right now. my only choice is to go to pacific view charter school. you could only take 2 classes there. but i need another class to make up. i could do that in the fall. But i haven’t taken the sat and sat 2. I would probably take spanish as my sat 2. but im probably going to do horrible. How can i do all of this right now to get admitted in the fall or do i need to wait until summer of 08′

FInd a nice community college and take your general ed classes there. Bust your a$$, get good grades and then transfer. You have a better chance of getting in and getting scholarships to help pay for your education.

The SAT and SAT 2 are merely two Saturdays out of your fall. You can re-take them. Take prep courses before hand; those will boost your scores. Take night courses whenever possible. Hold off on applying to Cal State just yet. Take a year or two and go to a community college, and then get the high grades to transfer.

hey Cal State Fullerton- not the best school, cal state long beach is better – trust me.. .but if you are bent on fullerton don’t worry too much.. they let just about anyone in, but you will need to go to a community college first, since you can’t get into fullerton just yet… try going to Fullerton JC for like 2 semesters, and then try to transfer.. Or you can go for 4, until you have the minimum transfer units (i think its like 54 or something) and then transfer. It will be easy and if you are a transfer student you dont need any SAT”s.

I was pretty average in H.S. too. Didn’t do great on the SATs both times i took it. I don’t want to say not reach high and apply to where you wanna go, so i won’t. I’m also a business major so i kind of understand wanting to get into a great business program. I applied to schools that were a “reach”….some i knew i stood a chance, and others where i was somewhat sure i’d get in. Didn’t get into any of my reach schools, but doesn’t mean I won’t get there eventually. I decided to go to a decent school, not much a biz program though, build up my gpa, and i plan to transfer. One my counselors told me when i was applying…that maybe you won’t get there right away, but that doesn’t mean, you won’t get there.
