Before you start to look (by either touring or going on their website) you should decide: 1. What size school do you want? 2. Do you want urban or rural? 3. Do you want a Greek scene/a big party school, or do you want a more quiet school? 4. Do you care how the campus looks? (ie. does it need to be pretty?) 5. Do you want a school that has good sports teams, or does it not really matter?

As far as deciding what you want to do/be–what is your favorite subject in school? If you don’t have one, or can’t really decide, don’t worry–you don’t need to know what your major is! At most colleges you need to officially decide at the end of you Sophomore year, so you have a lot of time to take classes in potential majors and play around with certain subjects.
