College is near but my grades suck!?
Favorite Answer
If your grades aren’t ridiculously bad then you can probably go to your state school and qualify for financial aid of some sort. Since your SAT scores are average, you would probably be accepted at your state school. And if you cannot afford it, like I said, you could qualify for a grant (or a loan, but try to avoid loans).
If you don’t get accepted to a state four year college, then you can always go to a community college for a year or two and get your grades up. Many people have started at community colleges and gone on to work in very successful jobs. Once you get your grades up at a community college, you can matriculate a four year state college.
Your other option is going to community college and applying for financial aid and LOTS of loans. If you’re 18 or older you can apply for Section 8 where the state pays your rent.
There you will be able to look for colleges sat/act score requirements, average acceptance rate, and other facts that can help you find your perfect college 🙂 Good luck!
