They are conveniently located (physically) but tend to be very expensive. In addition to the sites already suggested, try half.com or powells.com.

Most book stores are expensive. Your best bet would be to go to the barnes and noble web site, click used books and search for what you want. I aquired a $120 french book for $30 in great condition that way. Sometimes they have really good deals, sometimes they dont depending upon how much of a demand the book is in.
