Charge for doctors at college?
I know there are health centers and doctors on campus at every university. At my university, there is a $7 dollar charge for every semester hour for the health services. So if I get sick, how much would they charge me to see at doctor on campus at the health center if I don’t have insurance. Somebody said that it would be free if it was for minor stuff likes colds and cough… Is that true?

It depends on the school. At my college, general appointments are only $5 regardless of your insurance status. Other specialized treatment might cost more. This could include STD testing, immunizations, etc. My school lists the costs on the health services page on the website. You could check out your school’s website or call the health center. We don’t have a fee per semester or per year for health services. We just have to pay as we use it so check with your school. If you have to pay a fee each semester it might be free.

It’s usually free, or nearly so, to see a doc at the health center. However, they don’t do anything complicated. If you need anything beyond the simplest, they’ll just refer you to a doc in town, and to him you’re just another patient who pays the full rate.
