chances at NYU?

what are my chances to getting into NYU (specifically the clive davis department of recorded music)?

i just started my junior year and maintained a 4.0 since 9th grade (97-98 overall average).

i have all high scores on major tests (regents), taking/took classes such as ap history classes, ap english classes, ap spanish and all honors science classes.

i’m in band (associate drum major for marching band) and jazz band. and i take music theory.

extracurriculars include TRI-M music honor society, world language honor society, young composer’s club, international club, key club, pit orchestra for musicals, science olympiads, and winter wind ensemble.

i’m taking the SAT in may or whatever.

and i think that’s it… but yeah. chances? NYU is the only place that has what i want to do with recording music and stuff.

Your achievements look very promising and looks like you’re preparing yourself well for the program. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to prepare for the application and do well on the essays.

Always have a backup plan regardless of how well you think you’re doing.

You need to challenge yourself by writing an expose on one of the favorite passions of the professors. Most of them are keenly aware of (and dare I say obsessed) about the theory of the impending convergence of all souls. This is where all souls will be removed from their meat casings and force-merged into all. it is glorifying, confining and liberating all at once. If you can express this through prose and/or a song, they would be highly impressed. Do not limit yourself to what you can put on a resume…Wow them with this!
