Can I send the same letter of recommendation to different schools?

Is it okay to send one letter of recommendatio to two different schools or will they eventually find out? Do they even care if you do that?

When you ask your teacher or counselor for a letter of rec, they only compose one letter, but they change it only slightly for each school. (Different address heading, changing name of school if it appears in the body of the letter, etc.)

Thus, it is common practice to send what is basically the same letter to all of the schools to which a student applies. All schools know this.

Ask Tracy, she has the answer..
Absolutely. I highly doubt any of them would find out — besides, how could they possibly expect your teachers and peers to write numerous letters of recommendation for all of the schools you are applying to?

Be sure your teacher/peer has written the letter for a general school, and has not specified the school you are applying to (i.e., “I think Susie would be an excellent student at Stanford because..”). Watch out for that!

many times, the instructor will write one suggestion letter, and deliver it to all your colleges. except you’re making use of to each college with a distinctive selection in significant or interest, your instructors does not might desire to jot down separate suggestion letters for each.

Well, I don’t think they would care or ever find out. But that’s my opinion. But wait for other answers to make sure. There may be some unwritten law I don’t know about.
