Ok, so I have about a 3.8 gpa last time I checked, but……….?

Universities such as UCLA, UCSB, etc. are only taking a minimum of 4.5. I take AP, honors, and college courses at this community college. I also do some volunteer work and I play sports in and out of school. Oh, and I’m in the top 12% of my class. Not sure if the upper or lower part though. So what do you think?

why do people keep on writing on here that these colleges only accept you if you have that high of a gpa (like a 4.5). I would guess that UCSB will take you but for UCLA you might need to do better than top 12% of your class, so to get in you would need good SAT scores and it looks like if you might have the extra curricualar stuff down pretty good. So UCLA would be a maybe

Apply. Don’t let that stop you. A 3.8 GPA is great and the level of classes you’re taking is advanced. All that will be taken into consideration, as will your activities and volunteer work. Just apply and don’t worry too much about it. If you don’t apply, you’ll never know. Good luck.

“Imagination is more importance then intelligence” -Albert Einstein

We consider this man a genius and if you don’t believe this quote is true look it up and see it with your own eyes. Einstein emphasized imagination far more. So take your 3.8 GPA and shove it down the drain. Focus on improving your imagination and creativity for then if you do you shall be a success!

I say if you want to go to those colleges, go for it! You have a good GPA. Universities look for diversity. Besides, at some high schools, like mine, it is impossible to get a higher GPA than a 4.0. You won’t know unless you try. If that’s what you want to do, then do it!

I think your doing great and you are very well balanced. Any school that won’t take you is definately missing out and you wouldn’t want to go there anyway.
