I agree with the woman above me(tye_dye). I never really participate in my school event/sports/clubs, I go to a “football school” the team gets all the funding and everything else gewts the scraps and loose change

I got into quite a few colleges I consider good, including the college I go to now-Wheaton MA-without being in any clubs. Grades are important, obviously, and I had to perform lots of community service for school, which helped as well. Taking time and spending a little money to take extra classes over the summer is probably not necessary, but it definitely wouldn’t hurt-a language class, for example, if you’re going to take/continue a language in college. Your admission essay is also important. Most importantly, don’t stress if you don’t get in where you wanted. A college is only as good as the work you put in-straight D’s at Harvard won’t leave you as prepared for the workforce as A+’s at community college.

Sure. Be a published author, do original scientific research, get a record deal, do a lot of community service, start your own business or non-profit. Because the colleges are really asking, ‘what are you doing with your spare time?’.

Yes, you can but be sure to take a foreign language, this would have been good for my daughter if she had. That was worth $6000 to be deducted towards her 4 year tuition.
