A GED is a test that is supposed to be the equivalent of a high school diploma.
You do not need a GED or a diploma to be a writer. You do need, however, from the way that you posed your question to improve your English.

As others here have said you don’t need any kind of degree in order to become a writer in general. However having at least a high school diploma or its equivalent (the GED) is helpful in getting in the door with some publishers (a college diploma giving you even more prominence). The higher the education for a writer the better it is for most. It all depends on what kind of writing you are looking to do.
