93.7–holy shnikes! That’s pretty good. The highest GPA I’ve ever seen. A 87 is NOT a 3.5 average. It sounds like you’re around 3.5 or 3.7, it depends on your grades. Good SAT score, I am sure you will have no problem getting in.

It sounds like you are about at the 25% level of their admittees (the bottom end of the middle 50%). I don’t know how a 93.7 translates into a 4-point scale – if it is above a 3.5, you are okay.

I’m guessing your SAT score would have to be somewhere around 2100. And I’m also guessing that your GPA is around 3.8? Which is pretty good. But remember that extracurriculars and the essay play a BIG role in the admissions process as well.

Wow, I asked the same question, I have a 1950 and 94.6 average.
According to my Competative Colleges book, average GPA is 3.6 and 68% had over 700 on the math section of the SAT and 32% had over 700 on their reading section. So it really comes down to what subjects you are strongest in and what level coarses you’re stong in, Carnegie Mellon generally accpts people who lean more towards math and science.
