Better to take continuing ed. classes at Harvard or pursue a degree from another school?

Right now i am taking classes online towards my BA degree and it is a reputable school. I recently inquired about taking classes from the continuing education division of Harvard University and found out that the classes were comparable in price of what i am spending now. Would it be worth it for me to just transfer to Harvard to get a degree from a school with a reputation? The only concern that i have is their continuing ed. program only offers one major for a BA program- Liberal Arts with a concentration of your choice. Does a liberal arts degree from Harvard sound better than an actual major from another school? If i decide to go to Harvard I am also limited as to how many classes I can take online, and I might have to get a new job with better hours so I can go to Harvard at night. please help me with my decision!!

Getting a degree at Harvard’s continuing ed/extension school is not the same thing as getting a degree from the university as far as obtaining a prestigious degree. It’s something that anyone off the street can sign up for as long as they have the money–like a community college but much, much more expensive. It really doesn’t carry any more weight than a CC degree either. Go with your reputable school as far as your undergrad degree, that’s definitely your best option.

Liberal arts has very few applications in the job market, so if you had an actual career in mind it might not be a good idea. And I’d be really surprised is a continuing education degree from Harvard was worth anything near as much as a regular degree from Harvard.

It won’t really maer where u get a Liberal Arts BA degree. The name will mean nohing for this type of degree. However, it WILL matter where you pursue a MA degree later.
