Quit college and take job, or try to finish school?

As a single parent I have ponder what would be suffient pay to be self suffient for my family. I think if I made about 15 dollars an hr I could be self suffient for my family of four (3 kids, 1 adult). I have been in college for 9 years off and on and am now a senior w/ two semester to go but they require me to quit my job to finsih becasue of the commute to the college, and time commitment. I applied for a job that is paying about 18 dollars and I think I will get the job, which is more than I think I will make as a soc major. If I get the job should I take the position and finish school some other time or stick w/ school? Singel parenting is tough right now for obvious financial reasons and I need to money. Should I quit school since I have so many barriers to finishing anyway? The job is stable and not leaving the commuinty. I owe tons of money to the university and have been out over a year going to the community college transfer in credits. What would you do?

Finish school. You are 2 semesters away. Why stop now? $15.00/hr may get you by now, but what about when the kids get older? Will you still be in the $15-$16 range? College graduates make twice as much, even in the same job area. Get assistance while you are in school. You don’t pay back loans while in school and can get a deferment for financial difficulty. Can you get a job on the weekends? It sounds hard now, but in the long run it will be worth it. And how would you explain the importance of staying in school to your children..when you just stopped? This close..keep it up. A sociology major? You could go on to work in a social worker setting, schools, hospitals..and much more. Those jobs amount to mucn more than $18/hr. Good Luck!
