anyone else go to/going to UC Merced?
My friend is going there and has to move into dorms on august 24th. why is this since classes don’t start till late september? Is moving in this early optional?

The first day of instruction at UC Merced for Fall 2007 is August 27, 2007. Merced is on a semester system and the school year starts late August and ends in late May.
Most other UC campuses are on the quarter system, which usually starts in late September and ends in late June.
