I guess you have to clarify your question further. Are you referring to the smutty tabloids that splash pictures of half-naked bodies (women often) and with letters to supposed love gurus as a disguise to sharing “sexual escapades intended to raise libido of the readers? Prior to EDSA 86, I recall a tabloid-sized paper published by the Manila Bulletin (then Bulletin Today) called Tempo. I don’t know if it is still being circulated till now. The smutty ones experienced a big boost in sales post 1986 when we recovered our “freedoms.” Sad, but true. And here’s another truth….one of the more popular smut-tabloids is owned and published by a Congressman…..
