Hi!

If she meant the bug/insect species that has been on Mother Earth for the longest, then that would be the cockroach.

If she meant the bug/insect that has the longest lifespan, then that would be (according to the Guiness Book of Records) The Splendour Beetles.

“The longest-lived insects are the Splendour Beetles (Buprestidae). On 27 May 1982 a Buprestis aurulenta appeared from the staircase timber in the home of Mr W. Euston of Prittlewell, Southend-on-Sea, Essex after 47 years as a larva. ”

i thought cockroach but actually termite queens have been known to live up to 50 years and some believe that number to be 100.
