Children’s Song: 3 bears in a bed…?

My friends and I are currently playfully arguing about a song we were all taught as kids. We each have different versions of the song, and so far google hasn’t been able to definitively prove any of us right.

I learned the song this way:

3 bears in the bed

and the little one said

Roll over! I’m smooshed!

So they all rolled over

and 1 fell out,

2 bears in the bed

and the little one said

Roll over! I’m smooshed!

(etc, etc)

My friends say they learned it:

Roll over! Roll over!

And keep laughing at me for the “I’m smooshed.”

Were other people out there also taught the “I’m smooshed” version?

Does anyone know what the correct version is?

I taught preschool for 3 years and I have to agree with your friend. Sorry. I would rather be rolled over than smooshed anyday.

I never learned it with “Three Bears”. I just learned:

There were 3 in the bed and the little one said

Roll over! Roll over!

So they all rolled over and 1 fell out

There were 2 in the bed and the little one said

Roll over! Roll over!

But definately no “im smooshed”

there were three kids in the bed and the little one said roll over, roll over, so they all rolled over and one fell out

there were two kids in the bed and the little one said roll over, roll over, so they all rolled over and one fell out

there was one kid in the bed and the little one said ahhhh… just right
