Why does some teachers with regular classes gives more and harder homework than Ap and Honors teachers?

I took Ap and Honors classes last year and I didn’t get this many homework. This year I’m only taking 1 Ap class and all the rest is regular and I got so much homework; especially from my regular English class.

In AP and Honors classes it is expected that you study for about an hour a night (from textbook or notes), the teachers believe that the students are self-driven to learn. While, in regular classes (CP1 and CP2) the students need motivation from their teachers to complete work outside of school and to learn and practice the material. However, this is not always the case and varies from teacher to teacher and subjects.

Who knows??????

Power trip is my guess. I worked in education for 22 years. I saw teachers who needed to be the bad a**. They were horrible with the amount of homework they gave.

The AP Teachers seemed to have their course plan down much better. They knew how to pace the class to get it done. They just have a different motivation.
