what is the best web site to go to for the most up to date teacher vacancies?

I was wondering if each state’s department of ed.’s web site is the best place to go to for most up to date teaching opportunities. Would the county school district’s be more up to date? and does anyone do a good job of keeping up with their own web site on a daily basis?

It depends on the state and district you want to teach in.

For example, if you want to teach in the state of Florida you can find out through http://www.teachinflorida.com

If you know the actual district you can also go that districts specific website for the most recent job openings.

If you live in New York you want to check out the Sunday edition of the New York Times.

If you are applying to school districts all over the country I suggest http://www.teachers-teachers.com

In Illinois the State Board of Education site lists openings, then there is a County ROE (Regional Office of Education) that lists openings, and then each individual district usually has a web site that lists openings. I would start with the district and county lists first, but often the state site is just as good. It’s a crap shoot really as to who updates their lists most often. Good luck.

I’m in Maryland. The state does not list openings, the counties do individually.
