Teachers: What do you think of the 10 to 1 rule of Principals?

My friend has this rule called the 10 to 1 rule. He says that you can have the same amount of success with one mediocre principal and 10 Excellent teachers that you can have with One excellent principal and 10 mediocre teachers.

Basically it takes 10 excellent teachers to cancel the effect of one mediocre principal and vice versa.

What do you think. More? Less?

a mediocre principal acts out all the traditional things about education he has learned from years and years of studying and acting it out. he would not be able to achieve the success (as with an implied standard) the system might be craving for, with or with out excellent teachers.

who would be dragging the net? the teachers? who would teach them, then, to stir?

leadership and management counts a lot.

i think, real success can be measured with excellency from both parts 1 is to 1. symbiotic and with leverage.
