Teachers, are you assigned a homeroom…?
2. EVERY OTHER YEAR, OR
3. NEVER!
Favorite Answer
Department chairs and big sport coaches (football, cheerleading, baseball, wrestling) rarely have homerooms simply because their other activities take up so much time the administration doesn’t give them one. Some special education teachers (hence my one year off – I wasn’t assigned a classroom, but rather worked in other people’s classrooms) don’t always have one either.
Some of my best “teacher memories” happened in homeroom. I had a box at more door for embarrassing questions that they could remain anonymous during asking and answering. I and other the students would field the answers. Mostly it was like…I don’t remember how the exam schedule works. Please explain it again ….or … Where’s a good, cheap place to eat at for prom? Only one question was not intended for public consumption, but it sure made me laugh. 🙂
I am at a middle school. We would get a group of students as 6th graders, and keep them for three years until they left to high school. It was a great thing.
