My brother’s 4th grade teacher assigned him a book report?

He chose one of those “Goosebumps” books and she asks for “Genre and reasoning” I understand what she means by “Genre” but can someone here help with what she might want from “reasoning”? I thought it was like our opinion but she later writes that she wants our opinion too. Thanks

Perhaps she means the reason you chose that particular book? If in doubt, send a note and ask her.

Sounds like an Answer and Support question.

1. What genre do you think this book is?

2. What’s your reasoning (support) for making that decision?

That’s a very common questioning technique that makes the student recognize the difference between educated decisions and guesses.

in case you do no longer persist with the chain of command, and as a replace pass on the instant to the perfect as you’re offering, you would be seen as vindictive, impulsive, and unreasonable. suitable approach in this difficulty is to talk to the instructor and locate out what is going on. pupils would desire to have interpreted her words in any different case. in case you’re actually not happy with what the instructor has to assert, then you definately ought to refer to the crucial. nonetheless no longer happy? refer to the superintendent. nonetheless unhappy? pass to the board. Be cautioned that in case you’re making accusations that are actually not real to the board, this has the aptitude of harming the instructor’s expert recognition and he or she would have grounds to sue you for slander. and he or she would have recommendations-blowing witnesses; an entire college board. perfect to persist with the chain of command and get the info, documenting all pertinent suggestion alongside the way.
