Looking for a tutoring position in New York City?

I am a chemical engineering sophomore and I’m looking for a tutoring position in New York City.

I can tutor Math and Science for all levels. However, I have neither prior experience nor teacher’s certificate. I would like to work for a tutoring service or an institution rather than work independently. I also can tutor in all 5 boroughs of New York City.

Does anyone have any information about an available tutoring position that fits my self-description above.

Thanks in advance and I’m looking forward to hearing from you,

Have a nice day,

Hopeless guy,

Minh

Don’t restrict yourself to New York City, or even US for that matter. Try online tutoring. Then you can have a worldwide market of students/clients. Try sites like:

(1) http://www.tuitionplaza.com/tutoring/

(2) www.tutor.com

(3) … and many more (use search engine!).

Think outside the box and you’ll have more options.

Thank you, Jonathan!

Yes, I did use search machine and found some. I sent my cover letter and resume but never received a response. My friend told me that probably they were looking for someone with previous experience or with a certificate. That’s why I asked you for any information about an available tutoring position that fits my situation.

I want to gain my teaching experience so that I can apply for scholarship or fellowship or whatever when I go to graduate school. You can call it “resume-building”, lol! I doubt that a graduate school will be interested in an online tutor or an independent tutor (no, I mean you are great but I prefer the other way!). That’s why I would like to work for either a tutoring service or an institution.

OK! I think I’ve made everything clear. I appreciate any suggestion from you.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you,

Minh
