Is it true that Korean Schools aren’t hiring Filipinos to work as an English Teacher?

How about the racial descrimination in Korea? Do they look down on Filipinos?

To teach English legally in Korea you must be a citizen of an English speaking country. Korean Immigration considers Canada, Australia, New Zealand, America, Britain, Ireland, and South Africa to be English speaking. If you are not a citizen of one of these countries you will not be granted a work visa to teach English in Korea. In addition to this requirement, you must have a university degree.
