I need help with a math lesson plan?

I need to come up with a lesson plan that meets the NCTM communication standard for the 6-8 grade level. If you know of an activity that i could use for a lesson, tell me!

The communication standard is simply that students should analyze their own thinking and be able to communicate it to others.

any lesson will work. If you organize your students in groups and have them chart out and share, you can focus their thinking and highlight some of the most interesting approaches and mathematically accurate answers.

You said it in your question: why not check the nctm sweb site.. they have hundreds of lesson starters. Only you can decide where your kids are.. here is the link:

I would pick something with graphing. Not quite sure off the top of my head what the communication standard is but what about a 5 question survey where they have to ask everyone in the class and then pick 3 different ways to graph the answers to the questions. Each answer is a different graph.
