I have a couple of questions regarding teachers last day?
2.) Do they turn their room keys in/
3.) Do they have meetings?
4.) Do they really clean their classrooms out?
5.) Also on last day for teachers do they all leave ot at the same time or what? Who tells them when they can leave?
Ok thanks!

1. Teachers look forward almost as much as the kids to summer vacation. The last day is a very busy day for a teacher. They have their grades, room inventories, keys, supply lists for next school year, room repair lists, grade book ( just in case there is a question of the grades and the principal can use it to answer) and lesson plan book to turn in.
2. I have been in some schools that require teachers to turn keys in. I personally do not require my teachers to turn them in.
3. I would not hold a meeting on the last day. They want to get out, and I want them out so I can get some work done. By the way you didn’t ask about principals, but that time of year we are scrambling filling open vacancies.
4. Yes, they put things away so the custodians can properly clean their room during the summer.
5. Teachers are contractually (by contract) told when they can leave. Some leave that second, some linger around and visit before they leave. Believe it or not, some come in later and get lessons prepared for next year.
p.s. don’t forget to thank your teachers when you get back to school.
Your lesson plans bounded and turned together.
Turn in report cards from absent students.
All library books turned in.
Yes turn in room key.
There usually are no meeting as this would be a work day.
In depends on your school how you clean up your room.
I have to take down all posters and have everything stored away. My mom works at a catholic school and she can just leave her room alone.
I defenitlely recommend taking home your personal items as there are some people out there that take things. You would leave in the room all the stuff that was purchased by the school.
The prinicipal says when you can leave.
1) The last day for students is not the same as last day for teachers. Our students had their graduation ceremonies earlier in the week, so the the student turn out was quite low on their actual last day. I spent most of that day reflecting, cleaning and congratulating with those who did come. The NEXT day was my last… I could have come in for the entire next week if need be. but here is what i did on that actual last day:
turn in roll book, clean out everything from classroom and lock them up in my cabinets. (my classroom is to be used during the summer, and anything I leave out might be gone) box up everything in my desk and take it home, turn in checked out supplies to science lab, take home laptop, go to faculty meeting, create a day one setup for next year and put it away, clean up my grading computer by organizing all this years files and deleting everything I wont need, take down all bulletin boards and recycle any student work left over, spend some time visiting other teachers.
2) yes, we have to turn in our keys at the end of the day
3) we do. it is quite short, mainly a thank you, talk about anyone who is leaving or retiring etc…
4) see above
5) we have a checklist – we have to get signatures from every department head and all the administrators. Once that is done we are allowed to leave as long as its past 3:15 pm!~
Teachers are one of the most dedicated to our youth and the least paid for it.
