Mentors are not allowed to show you their portfolio for some reason. Try to see if your district gives information sessions and training sessions. I just participated in an all day session for pre-candidates on how to start Portfolio #4 and walked out with tons of ideas which I need to revisit this week. I will be attending an information session next week and the application drop off session in Sept.

I had meet the teacher this past Friday and one thing I did ask parents to sign was the release form found in the portfolio section online. That way I had them all in the classroom instead of sending them home with the kids and waiting weeks to get them signed. All parents gave the ok, they were actually excited to know their child’s teacher will be working towards this kind of certification.

You definitely need to get in touch with a mentor and he/she can walk you through the process. Good Luck!!! We will do great this year!
