So, an undergrad and the Ed. courses (plus you have to pass the state exams) are enough for an initial teaching certificate. Eventually, you need a Masters, which you want to get as it equals more pay.
And if you want to become a professor at a college, you need to complete your Ph.D. to have a chance of being consider for a tenured position.
For up to high school a bachelors degree and state certification, 4 years. For college at least a Masters degree and certification, about 6-7 years. Most college teachers have a Ph.D.
For college a MAsters
if you want to teach middle school you need to either get ur degree in history and get your teaching certificate
if you want to teach college you have to have a masters or doctorite i think
