How do I handle a rude student?

I have a rude student who persuades her peers to follow suit. I luv them but it hurts me to know this. This particular person also displays such attitude to her other teachers, however, she is even more so particularly rude to me though I tried ways to reach out to her. What should I do? Ignore her? It affects me as well as the morale of the class when she says derogatory remarks about me in the class while teaching.

well i’m guessing your the teacher and if so take her out into the hall and talk to her and shut the door. but ask her to please step outside with you. be very calm and tell her that this behavior is rude and childish. and if you proceed with conducting yourself in such a manner you will end up in detention and eventually the principals office for the principal to deside your punishment and eventually your parents will have this brought to their attention. i will take the necessary actions to stop you from disrupting my class one way or another this will not continue so either you can stop and conduct yourself properly as though a student should or you will be punished and get in a lot of trouble that i’m sure you don’t want. and you will not stay in my classroom with your attitude so i suggest changing it or being more productive with your time. so from here on out its your call. i can either be a very nice and easy going teacher or i can have you punished because your a chronic trouble maker balls in your court. – but when you tell her all this make sure and keep calm and be straight forward and explain that she is going to hate school and that school sucks but you just gotta make the best of it and that shes not helping with that. anyway in the end follow through with giving her detentions for insubordination and disrupting the class or whatever. or breaking the rules by talking during class and what not. and if you have to give her office referals. if she doesn’t report to the office get on the intercom and have the principal come down and get her and once it goes that far the principal will end up giving her punishments and calling her parents and what not. if your not the teacher then i suggest asking the teacher after class politely if you may speak to him or her and tell what is going on and follow up the chain until something is done. but don’t be rude or anything good luck.

Remove her from class and ask to speak with her after class when she does it. Detentions work. Students are ridicules they forget you control the grades and in college they get removed if one interruption is caused. Maybe a speech about that in front of the class may fix things. Some kids are just angry and hate authority. You can either sympathize or try a more harsh approach. Make a list of pros and cons. She must learn to respect her teachers, do not feel sorry for her because being strict will only help and teach her.

No, don’t reach out anymore. That’s probably part of the problem. When a student is rude and disrespectful, reaching out is great that first time, and for some it works, and for others, they take it as a sign of weakness and they try to eat at you.

-First, practice noticing exactly what she does so you can verbalize it.. this can be harder than it sounds. Then, as soon as she does these things, kick her out with a smile on your face. Do it till it stops, and make sure she knows that you don’t care. Eventually she will become just as bitter with you as with the other teachers and you’ll be able to teach the other kids.

It’s not that cruel to do. Look at adults like this. My message is that life will easily pass you by, and no one in this world cares if you choose to act like a rude little baby in the corner.

I would stop everything and take a moment to address the situation when it comes up. Do not accept this kind of behavior from a student, or you could lose the respect of the whole class. Ask her if she has anything helpful and relevant to contribute to class. If not, then she needs to be respectful and let you teach. Remind her of the class rules, and that she needs to cooperate by remaining quiet and not distracting other students. If she has a personal issue with you or your teaching, she will need to meet with you about that outside of class. Tell her you can talk to her parents about it, too. This should help.

Tell him his outbursts, complaining, and disruptive conduct are bothering different scholars, and different scholars are complaining approximately him, and wish him out of the category. (the opposite scholars already realize this, and can trust you; do not fear approximately them). Say it proper in entrance of every body. Make it transparent you’re talking most effective to him and no longer the relaxation of the category. That will have to paintings. If it does not, then cross to the Dean of Students and tell him of this and he’ll in general be compelled to drop the category. Make certain you could have a few documentation in hand while you discuss with the dean. Hell, deliver in a video digital camera and set it up at school, and factor it proper at him, and RUN it the whole magnificence for a pair categories; he’s going to in general get the factor. Also ask what different professors do in identical instances, above all older, extra skilled professors. You’re the professor, and I’m certain you are smarter than he’s. Use your smarts and outsmart him. You’ll determine some way. Don’t fall into the traps this scholar is environment for you. Simply inform him to attend till the top of the category if he has any extra feedback or questions. This occurs always in top institution, however no longer very mostly in school. When it does (IN COLLEGE, no longer in hs) confront the little b@stards and are available proper out and inform them to behave proper or LEAVE. Note approximately reply above: I might NOT threaten to decrease his grade; and I surely might NOT “hunch to his stage” in order that he can appreciate. In HS, I nearly might simply quit speaking totally and stare on the man or woman till they stopped–that probably labored. You have got to be imply routinely. Embarrassment works wonders, however it will probably backfire, because the scholar would embarass you again, after which you could have stooped to his stage. Just quit and stare, and do not play his recreation. You’re gonna have got to forget about a few of it, however to not the factor in which it disrupts different scholars. That’s the road. Set it. Complaints approximately homework and assignments??? Oh my, simply inform him that is the specifications, and if he does not like. it to take a further magnificence. If he shoots again “however that is my most important!”, then inform him probably he is within the unsuitable most important. Heck, inform him he is within the unsuitable institution, inform him top institution is over.

Well you can take the authoritative route of giving her detentions or to the office.

Another way to handle rude students are to treat them as the age they are acting. Send them to the quiet corner. Be careful though, this may backfire.

However what seems to be the most effective way is to be stern about their behavior and reward their rudeness with more homework. After all if they are wasting time in class, then that means that they can afford spending time at home to work on school assignments. Heck you can give more work to the entire class and subtly hint that they are responsible for the increase. Peer pressure can work for you, instead of against you.

parent/teacher meeting. The child is already a rude disrespectful brat that brings down the room, losing a trust or friendship that isn’t even there to begin with by snitching her off is a non issue. i’m 37 blue collar, if a teacher called me and told me that was going on…. it would be ONNNNN between me and my child that night and you would see a definate difference. Thats my parental view, if the parents are ******* as well, hopefully other teachers have some good advice for you.

In all honesty, talk to the principal and have her removed from your room. She is keeping others from being taught in your classroom. Your first priority is the other students, and she needs to go another classroom if she cannot control herself. You are doing her no favors letting this happen, and her conduct is causing your teaching to suffer. There is no reason why you should have to suffer abuse from this student. Remember how your end of the year reports will look to the principal if you have a certain number of students who have failed the class. This could end up looking bad for you.

First try reaching out to her again…a private meeting or something, and let her know how you feel. Otherwise let the principal or whoever is in charge know – you should not under any circumstances have to deal with such a student.
