Have you ever been a tutor?

Would you please share the teaching skills with me?

like, how to do can make a kid obey you?

except their school work, what else can be given for them to do?

last but not least, when the kids ask you a question that you are not sure about the answer, you will……….??

thanks for answering.

You can’t “make” the kid do anything. You need the parent cooperation. The parent can work with the kid and get them to do the tasks. That is NOT your job as a tutor. Your job is to provide extra explanations and opportunities for practice and mastery.

As you begin to identify areas of weakness in their learning you can look on the Internet for extra practice and explanations to help with these skills. Remember, their school work will most likely be beyond their skills and you are trying to get them to the point where the school work is no longer beyond that point. Extra work from other sources is a must.

Finally, when students asked me a question that I didn’t know, I just told them I don’t know but I will look it up and have it for you when we meet again.

I am now a teacher and I still tell students that. My students respect that I don’t make something up and that I really do look it up and have an answer for them the next time we meet.

Good luck!

If you are tutoring and having trouble with the kids you need to talk to the parents.

It is impossible to suggest what other activities to do with the kids since we don’t know the age or what you are tutoring – your job really is to work with them on academics so I would stick with that, and try to think of some games that are learning activities.

If the kids ask a question you don’t know the answer to, tell them that you don’t know the answer, but you will find out, and next time you see them have the answer ready.

I hope this helps.

1. BE PATIENT

2. if it’s a kid…make sure you teach him in a fun way:

make it a fun game

tell him that after he finishes studying he can play already

3. if they ask you a question and you don’t know the answer, you can just tell them that you will tell them the next day because you have to make sure that your answer is correct

4. make sure you give them breaks so they won’t be bored just studying
