I don’t think so, because both jobs have plenty of work to do. If you are a guidance counselor, you need to be available to students all of the time. My guidance counselor always has a long line to get to her, which is very inconvenient. If you are a teacher, you need to be available to tutor students out of class. I think the better profession is in your hands, but you could probably still give advice while teaching if you were just a teacher. Good luck choosing!

In public school, you have to be one of the other. You can be a full-time Guidance Counselor and maybe teach an evening English class.

While it is not common, your best chance at this would be at very small schools. If New Jersey has any smaller campuses, perhaps magents or charters…private for sure – they usually ask their teachers to wear many hats. I know of small community schools in my area where they have a half time counselor – dont see why you couldnt teach also.

Another option is to teach and ask your school if you can start a college bound elective.

good luck to you!

I doubt it. Both are full-time jobs. There are some teachers who are part-time teachers, but I’ve never heard of a part-time guidance counselor.

possibly you need to tell her which you quite choose math at a various time of the day. for example, in case you have an afternoon math classification, tell her which you would be able to concentration and focus extra constructive on math interior the morning or vice versa. possibly switching the time of day ought to get you yet another instructor. good success.
