I am a math and science teacher.

Today a group of 4 of my students from last year marched up to me and the leader said “we took a vote – thats the ugliest shirt ever”

I plan to wear it again tomorrow.

As a teacher in New Jersey, I can tell you we teach based on the Core Curriculum Standards put forth by our state and the No Child Left Behind Act. Fashion is not on the list. If schools would enforce a uniform code, we wouldn’t see any questionable fashion.

I know what you mean. I am a huge fashion person. Teachers are given a list of things of wat they have to teach you. It is called the Georgia Performance Standards. As you start going to college or higher grade levels, you will notice that the classes that you take will focus more into what you want to do, so maybe one day you will have a class exspecially on fashion in college. Like in primary school, you learn the basics. Elementary school is like a little more advanced and more widespread on the topics. Then Middle School and High School will just keep doing the same and increase difficulty and become more specific. Finally you are in college wher you focus exactly on fashion.

No way. Fashion don’ts are on the rise because there are more important things to be concerned about than if stripes clash with plaids. We need science and math to solve the world’s problems.

Teachers are told by states what to teach because of standardized testing.

Also, math and science are more essential to the business and technology oriented world than fashion

If you can get the state to actually believe that we need to focus on fashion and the state can fund it and help students with their fashion needs….then you are simply a genius and should have been given a diploma your first day of kindergarten.

PS The whole flower in the hair thing is a bit dated and not appropriate unless you are in Hawaii. Even then it should only be done in the evening.

You’ve gotta be kidding! We need more focus on science, math and finance! If uniforms were mandated empty-headed girls could focus more easily on important things!
