can anyone recommend a good beginner saxophone book that also talks about reading music?

I have a new student who is just picking up the saxophone for the first time (11 yr old). He also does not know anything about how to read music or any basic music theory. Is there a good intro resource that covers both topics simultaneously that anyone can recommend?

The “Essential Elements 2000” series is designed to take a begining student with no knowledge of the instrument or music notation and teach them how to play. It also comes with an accompaniment CD to help and I believe the newer ones come with DVDs that demonstrate technique

Ten books arising. In no unique order. Recommended seeing that I adored them. I hate trash & chick lit so relaxation confident my record is “adequate”: The Kite Runner A Thousand Splendid Sun We Need to Talk approximately Kevin The Book Thief Love Warps the Mind a Little The God of Small Things Tully Sunflower Forest The Death & Life of Charlie St Cloud Q & A (now being bought as Slum-puppy Millionaire). Not always my faves however the first 10 I’ve learn that sprung to brain. x
