Have a positive attitude.
Try to get to know your coworkers.
Learn the class procedures of any teacher you work with.
Observe as much as you can about the classrooms you are in (we’re talking everything from what discipline methods the teachers use, what their curriculum involves, what kinds of bulletin boards/posters/etc. they have up).
Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you don’t understand something.
Pick up on the “buzz terms” as quickly as possible if you don’t know them.
Be a team player.
Come to work on time.

Be prepared for a never ending stream of lies and excuses. Every assignment will have a number of late turn ins. Set up a policy first day. Keep it simple. Every day late = minus ten points. Sounds draconian, but it will save future arguments.
