Anything I can do to make up for sports?

I don’t play sports because I’m not very good at them. I am much better at academic things. When the timne for College comes, what are possible substitutions for Sports so that I don’t seem like someone who’s only involved in academics? I play the violin in school and I have joined MANY clubs and competition activities.

You don’t need to have done sports, if sports isn’t your thing. It’s not the number or type of extra curriculars you do, but the quality and depth with which you do them. I’ve seen people with only ONE extra curricular get into elite schools (MIT, Yale and Harvard, specifically). But they did that one extra curricular with a depth and at a level that would knock your socks off.

So don’t worry so much that you don’t have sports. Do the extracurriculars that you like, and do them well, and enjoy them. Find a few that you can really spend some time on, and make an impact in. And ignore the sports.

Your violin lessons and other extracurriculars should be fine- not everyone plays a sport! Just emphasize how much of a commitment you made to violin and the clubs you were in.

There’s no prerequisite for playing sports in high school to get into college. As long as you have a fine arts-related activity to compensate for that (as you do), you should be fine. Just pick two or three activities/clubs that you really enjoy and pursue them.

Do some volunteer work, help special needs kids, food drive, build houses just anything to make you stand out
