UK college/universitys?

I wish to get a graduate in child edu from a school in the United Kingdom. I want to do this because I plan to live there; I’m currently living in Virginia and attending VCU for an undergraduate. I don’t know which on would be best and not overly expensive.

If you have any good suggestions please post them, thank you so much.

I assume you mean actually going there and studying at a real bricks and mortor University and not some online nonsense? The reason I say this is because there are some bogus diploma mills out there, although the laws in the UK are less tolerant than here and move to quickly close them down.

Generally, there is a standard across UK Universities, it would be hard to say what was better than the next. There are many new Universities over there (formerly Polytechnics) and in my opinion some are generically better than the Universities that were already in that town, eg. Glasgow Caledonian University is a better place to study than Strathclyde University, evidenced by the wealth generated, new cutting edge technology in the buildings and droves who go there. So the choice of Uni is a topic in itself… You would however be looking for a Teacher Training college.

Education is a bit more tricky though, since generally people who choose to do that do their undergraduate degrees in Education. You’d really have to contact the Teacher Training College’s that you like the look of and ask what post-grad courses they run.

In England, Wales and Northern Ireland you would require to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, In Scotland you’d require a Professional Graduate Diploma in Education – for both Primary and Secondary education. Entrance qualie (lacking a Bachelors in Education) required for these courses would be a Bachelors degree.

stirling university in scotland is a nice small uni. its outside of the ‘city’ of sterling which is actually pretty small, but beautiful, as it has a castle and is right outside the scottish highlands. the university itself is located on a forested hill outside the city. very nice place. plus, if u decide u want to go to the city for the day it is only a short train ride away from Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland

Hmmmm? I would, if I were you investigate what sort of qualifications you would need to get a degree or our equivilant in child care.

I suggest you telephone and ask a university about the situation.
