Studying medicine in Czech Rep/Serbia/Slovakia.?

I recently found out that studying in Europe is not unachievable for South-Africans, and was wondering if someone could give me some advice as to how to start out to achieve this goal… Thanks!

I would recommend that you do some web searching. Find some medical schools in various countries and go on their websites. Most of the time, you will find information in English. Your local library should have a publication listing foreign schools –pay a visit there and talk to the librarian.

You must remember, though, that you will be expected to pay for your studies. In Poland, medical studies for foreign students are conducted in English and I believe it’s possible in the three countries you have mentioned. If not, you would be expected to study the language for at least a year before being enrolled in program of your choice.

And don’t forget that obtaining a foreign medical degree does not allow you to practice medicine in your own country.

You would still have to take extra exams, do your internship, before obtaining your licence.

But a lot of foreign doctors do just that, so that is not such an impossible thing.
