Question about University in Europe.?

I’m an American high school junior now, and I’m starting to think about what college/university I would like to go to, and I’d like to study abroad for at least one year, preferably in England. How do I go about doing that, and what requirements would I need to meet?

There are international schools all over the world that you can find on the internet. I went to school abroad in France when I was in high school and it was one of the best experiences of my life. So much so, that when I had children I also sent one of my sons to Denmark to study for a year. It is fairly easy to locate schools on the net by searching in the country of your choice. Prepare early as there is a lot of paperwork in the application process. You will most likely have to write some essays, have professional references from your school as well as from different outside community activities in which you are involved. Be patient, it is a long process. Get your passport ready, and prepare to get study Visas if you are residing there for a lengthy period of time. Every country has its own requirements and the Embassy can help you as well. This step is necessary after you have been accepted to a program overseas.

Today more than ever it is possible for anyone to study and work abroad. It will open a whole new world for you to understand the customs and culture of another country.

The best of luck to you in your endeavor!

Your first step should be to decide on a college/university that you wish to attend. You can base your decision on a number of things such as the institutions academical record, the cost of attending the school or even the location – (city, area) etc.

Once you have made that decision the next is applying to that college/university. Each school will have their own requirements for international students who wish to attend. Make sure you have everything they ask before sending off your application.

Once you have been accepted you will need to apply for a student visa (INF 5). You can apply in a number of ways, the easiest is online at the website below.
