Principal Problem #2?

Ok, well if y’all haven’t seen principal problem #1, you need to. But now, Dr. G won’t let us wear rainbows because she thinks it supports gay marriage. I have sooo many friends that are gay, and I mean there’s nothing in our school’s handbook that says you can’t wear rainbows. You can wear anything you want as long as it’s school appropriate.

wow now THAT i would consider taking up with the school board. just because she is against it doesnt mean everyone has to be. besides, theres a thing called “freedom of speech / expression” and students do not leave their rights at the school house doors. if its not distracting or promoting drugs or gangs…then students are allowed to wear w/e.

Your principal cannot make a rule that discrimnates against a single group of people. My school had a rule that we couldn’t wear baggy clothes, chains, all red/blue, tagging etc. since it promoted gang afiliations and we were in a high risk area for gangs. This was for the safety of the students and not so much because the school was against their beliefs or feelings.

If this rule is true (I find it hard to believe) then I highly doubt a rule like this will hold up in a school board. Do you go to school in a very conservative area? If you don’t then I would highly suggest you have your parents gather with other parents (maybe of the gay friends) go to the board and discuss this.

If you really want to take it to the extreme you can go to the media with a story like this, they will really eat it up! News organizations are always looking for stories. Unless, like I said, you’re in a conservative area and the majority of the town has this prejudiced attitude.

OK, like…you didn’t tell us what kind of school you’re going to…so, if like, this is a Catholic School, I can understand why she’d make a rule like that…but if it isn’t, I’d like, speak to someone, cuz that doesn’t seem OK.

I answered your other question.

That’s discrimination.

You’re principal needs to be fired!

Your dad really should go talk to the board, that is SO WRONG and UNFAIR!
