I lived in the dorms for two years in high school, and seriously, this prepared me so well for college and how to handle boredom in general. Be thankful for the unstructured time. Find a good hobby. Also try and get involved in the outside community , maybe volunteer once a week at a soup kitchen or nursing home.

Set goals for yourself and try to work on them in your spare time.

Write snail mail. Get a pen friend or two.

Learn a new language.

Watch TV or listen to the radio.

Go for long walks.

Draw, paint, dance and be creative.

Collect things.

Listen to others what they like to do and pay attention to their lives. Interact with as many people as you feel comfortable and think about their lives.

Get out to a gym and work out, and talk to your parents or trusted friends about what to do with all your down time. Have a great year in school.

Writing letters can be fun, not just to your Mum and Dad but to grannies and friends. Photography would also be good, you could work on doing a slide show of the area the school is in through the year. Or try some voluntary work. Most schools allow their pupils to be involved in voluntary work outside the school. Go and speak to your head of your or who ever is in charge of you.

maybe play soccer more often. reading is very important and can be very very rewarding. start a hobbie like a collection or photography. maybe get some a small part time job and eran some cash and experience. write letters. do some artwork. explore! good lucks.
