American wishing to study in the UK or Ireland?

I imagine this question will be better suited in this category. Appologies for posting twice.

I was wondering if anyone could help me? I am hoping to attend university abroad in the Fall of 2008, looking specifically at the UK or Ireland. I have been looking up and down the site, but I am getting frustrated. I want to study History.

I’ve been in the Top 2% of my class since grade 7, and I have taken four AP courses [only ones my school offers] in High School. I have high SAT scores as well. I have ridiculous amounts of extra co-rics as well, from varying topics. Once High School is over, I’ll have taken ten semesters of History/Social Studies related class, four of which would be AP.

I want to go to a good school, but not necessarily a ‘top school’ i.e. Oxford, Cambridge, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, but it’s probably the biggest school in Ireland.
