A good country to go on foreign exchange?

I was thinking Argentina.. my second language is Spanish. I want to go somewhere that’s alive with great culture, and I liked the idea of Argentina because it’s so diverse. It has a summer season, right? Anyway, if you’ve gone to any amazing country, please suggest it 🙂 Thanks

Argentina, Spain or Chile would be great choices. Fairly safe. They generally like Americans. Spanish speakers.

Have fun, be careful.

I had a great time in Japan. They are extremely friendly and helpful to strangers, and even though English isn’t spoken much, anywhere you go you’re likely to find someone helpful who can speak at least enough English to give you directions or help you get what you want. I asked a woman for help reading a bus schedule, and she had her friend in a car drive me to my location!

Also, Japan is very safe, and you would have to be very stupid and outgoing to get yourself raped. Violent rapes just don’t happen. Your biggest risk is getting groped.

Japan also has a very interesting culture and language, both of which are polar opposites of America in many ways. Japanese is hard to learn in that none of its words share roots with English words, but easy to learn in that you don’t have to conjugate verbs for I/he/they/etc., and has a simple easy-to-learn grammatical structure. It was really fascinating to study.

I went on the JASIN program to Nagasaki, which included a homestay. I’d recommend it!

My family hosted a foreign exchange student from Chile, and he had nothing but great things to say about his country. That could be kinda cool too!
