What is the best way to prepare for NCLEX-RN?

It’s very overwhelming to me and I am scared to death. There are all types of review courses, books, cd’s! I don’t even know what will be best to prepare.

You have done all your courses, so you know most of the stuff anyways. It feels like you don’t know, but you have the knowledge of all the concepts in nursing. Now, NCLEX RN test is long. You need to practice sitting in front of a computer for few hours and taking the test. It is tiring, so you need practice. Forget Kaplan, forget reading books about different concepts…just take tests from a CD.

I reviewed from NCLEX 3000 CD. I went through questions from each system and then I took a comprehensive exam. First time, you might not get good total points, but the whole idea is to get used to those questions. Taking test again and again will build your confiendence. You might have to take the same test 2 or three times in the CD. Slowly slowly you will increase the amount of time you spend in front of computer. You only go to the books when you get an answer wrong. Go see why you had that answer wrong. This is the way to study. Reading books and concepts for hours and days won’t prepare you for NCLEX. You have alreday done that.
