make flash cards
write the vocab. on one piece of paper
and its definition on the back…
even if not testing yourself, read your vocab. deck of cards often. In the bus, in the cafe, etc… It really helps. Then you can test yourself, by not looking at the back for definitions.

I’m stuck with the same problem. Flash cards never worked for me nor stories, but i guess you can give it a go and check out which ones help you more. But a warning, if you use flash cards, in one month, you’ll have tons that they will make your whole place messy and differentiate one from another.

3×5 cards for flashcards
funny sentences you make up, the more crazy and insulting the better (provided the word is correctly used)
You will have fun and the cruel sentences will have you remembering the words for a long time.
Good targets include teachers, siblings, student subcultures, pop trends, etc.

Try writing them into a story that is one of the easiest ways to do it.
