Too late To Go Back To High School??? Stick With G.E.D??

My boyfriend was expelled from high school back in January ’07. After a month, for multiple reasons (not excuses), he decided to get his G.E.D, I guess for a faster way. Anyways, I dont know exactly what they do before you get the g.e.d, but he’s been taking classes at the place since march. So im hoping it ends soon.

Well recently he’s been thinking about going back to High school and getting his Diploma. I’ve told him that I thought it was too late anyway PLUS…when he’s through…he’s THROUGH. I love it that he wants to go back and would encourage it but I keep thinking that it’s too late. REASON WHY I DENY IT IS BECAUSE OF THAT REASON AND THE THOUGHT OF THE CREDITS HE MIGHT HAVE TO MAKE UP IN THE END.

IS IT TOO LATE?? HE TOOK MY ADVICE BUT IM STILL PONDERING ON THINKING THAT HE MIGHT HAVE A SECOND CHANCE….

NOW IM THE ONE WHO NEED THE ADVICE.

HE’S 17 AS OF AUG 20TH AND IM 16 LOL IF THAT HELPS ANY

He should talk to his counselor see what he can do, if still can come back. If not, he can still go for the G.E.D. His diplma/GED is very important, since almost every job will require that u have a diploma/GED. He also can go to a 2-year college w/out the diploma/GED.

He should speak with the school administrators and discuss his options. Since the year has already started, that may cause a problem. He also may be able to get into another school system if he can’t get back into this one. Employers and colleges tend to look more favorably on a diploma vs. a GED, so it’s definately worth a shot!

Well, why was he expelled? And would anyone want him back? If I was running that high school, or any other, I would probably think twice before re-admitting him. Nobody gets thrown out of school these days for any but serious socialization difficulties, and after less than one year I wonder if he’s improved at all.
