The beginning of senior year is the time at which most people going to college the following fall apply to college. Since senior year hasnt yet started you still have time to take the SAT once more. Definetely take it again if you can, though I am not sure if there are any more dates this late. Waiting until the last date to take such an important test isn’t a very good idea, but since you havent this is what I suggest. Dont apply to the fall semester, but see if you can retake the SAT in the first half of senior year and apply to the spring semester. There is also another test you can take called the ACT and if you take both and maybe do good on one you will be better balanced. The subject tests can also be taken along with the real SAT, but you don’t really need them unless your going to a good college and into a tough major. The best place to apply for colleges is either at each individual colleges website or by going to www.cfnc.org. CFNC offers an easy way to apply to a lot of colleges using one standard application. That way you dont have to apply to each college and type all the basic information over and over again. Good Luck

go to Amazon.com or Barnes & Nobles to buy SAT books. Princeton and Barron’s are very good. Review them and study a lot. Do practice problems every day and your score will improve. Don’t get discouraged, but take the SAT as soon as possible so you can apply to colleges sooner. And even if you do go to the community college, that’s fine. It’s just for undergrad school, if you work hard, you can go to an even better graduate school.

You don’t have to wait to apply. Colleges know that students are still working on their standardized tests, so on the application, where they ask for your SAT scores, they also say that you can just enter the dates on which you plan on taking the SAT. Just take it again in the fall, after prepping for it, of course.
