Listen, I took HONORS English my Junior year, and I only took it because all my friends told me to take it, even though I didn’t like English that much. All my time was devoted to tedious reading and writing soooo many essays, and it was extremely HARD balancing my classes, since ALL my time went out to English homework. I regret taking it and not dropping when I had a chance.

AP Calculus requires A LOTTTT of work (I’m taking it this year), and so does Physics. My advice to you is that since you don’t like English that much, don’t take it unless you have a lot of free time for reading and writing essays, and you are REALLY good at English. Perhaps if you want to try it out and see if the teacher and class is easy, take it for one semester and drop it if you have a hard time balancing your classes.

A lot of people in my school DROPPED AP English this year because they were having a hard time balancing their classes with their other APs. This sounds like your situation, and unless you are planning on majoring in English, it may not be worth it. Plus it’s going to be your LAST year, focus on subjects that you like and have a great year. =] I’m glad I’m not taking AP English this year. So, so glad. I can focus on ALL my classes, and have time for myself.

Well, its your senior year of high school, make sure that you have some fun! College is fun, but nothing is like high school. On the other hand, if you are looking to get into a difficult college, the AP classes look really really good on your transcript! If your grades are good already and your already taking two AP classes, I say dont take the AP english, enjoy some of your senior year! UNLESS you want to be an english major in college, then take it.

If you a hard working student that has extra time on your hands then I’d take. AP english is a lot more time consuming because you have to a lot of reading on your spare time. It also gives you college credit so that would be an advantage. However don’t over due it because the senior year is what most colleges look at the most.

All AP classes are beneficial for college but many universities only take 5’s on the AP English test for university credit.

AP classes count for college credit, and most schools want to see that you take at least 2 AP courses in your highschool years. It is definitely a benefit if you take it, but be prepared to work-it is a college class. I probably wouldn’t take it if I had less than an A in a normal english class or less than a B or B+ in an honors class.

too many AP courses can stress you out especially i you don’t like it…AP English 4 is usually very time consuming considering there are many essays to write…and DO NOT take anything because other people said so or “it would look good on your college application”

the more AP classes you take the better. Im a freshman in highschool and all ready i have two AP classes. It is also good when you have more community service hours then required

But if you are taking AP, you should be going to university not college.

If you feel you can take it and do well, then go for it. There’s no sense in showing you took and AP class if you didn’t get a good grade. You know yourself best.
