Okay… be honest! Is this score really bad?

Don’t be rude, but be honest. I took the SAT’s last spring and I got a 1550. I know they aren’t out of 1600 anymore, its like 2400 or something? So… does this score really suck?

– Im re-taking them next week.

That’s not really bad at all. I’m not sure what the current scoring system is but I took them in 7th grade (part of an honor student thing) and I got 1550 on them and I was told that would have been good enough to get into college with if I had been older.

Then I went and got stupid (arrogant) and decided not to take the SATs for real when I was a junior in HS and that really limited my college options. Good thing you’re taking them !

It probably won’t hurt you to retake them to get a higher score but in my book 1550 is respectable.

Yes its out of a 2400 now. I took it and got a 1600. I graduated with Honors in my high school so go figure. The New SATs are harder than ever, so basically you did fine !

UT Austin will admit you. Your SAT scores are first rate sufficient, yet what makes you shine as an applicant is the massive quantity of school artwork you have been taking, besides as each and every of the golf equipment you’re in touch in. certainty be counseled, your grades are the main needed factor of school admissions, and with greater suitable than a 4.0 in all college point training, UT Austin knows which you will succeed on the classwork, and maximum probable make the campus a greater useful place

that’s like getting about a 1020 on the old one. which was kinda the average. but i think it’s a good idea to retake it. i’m retaking mine the 6th too! actually, if it’s cuz the writing score was really low, most colleges don’t actually use that score in determining anything yet. they just aren’t sure how to weight it. so really, the question is how well u do on the math and reading

i moved to the US in 10th grade from Europe, and my scores were 1920 the first time and 1910. So if English is your first language, then I’m sorry but yes it does really suck. However, to make you feel better, the mean in the US is 1511, which means that you are above the average.

you’re just above the average scores, but to be honost, the average scores are pretty terrible. I’d shoot for at least over 1650-1700 depending on what schools you are considering

I got a 2100 out of 2400, but the national average is 1500, so I guess you’re alright. If you’re aiming high, though, it does suck.
