Certainly. Your local college is going to require you to take a math course (maybe even Calculus), so you should take math this year so that you will be prepared to take the math course you have to take in college. You really don’t want to have to do any remedial math courses when you get to college either, but you could end up having to take a remedial math course if you don’t take math this year (since you could forget a lot of math if you are not taking a course). A remedial course won’t count for credit, and it won’t count towards your general education requirements, but you’ll still have to take the remedial course if you are not prepared to do Calculus or whatever other math course that counts towards the general education requirements, when you first enter college.

If you want to end up being in a top-notch college then definitely go for it. If you’re planning to take it in college for the first few years and take it slow and steady in college…it’s not absolutely necessary. All I know is, I’m definitely taking all four years of it, regardless of the fact that math is surely not my subject.

I don’t know how much math you are supposed to take in

your four years of highschool, but it wouldn’t hurt to take a

refresher math class to better help you for getting a job and

just being able to equate easier in your mind. Math tends to

keep us a bit sharper as we often have to concentrate to

figure things out in our minds. I know I decided to do that, and

I don’t regret it.
